As I write this, our of fice is rattling and groaning while what sounds like Armageddon rages on above us outside. Between the deafening downpours and impressive rolls of thunder , I can hear the occasional chorus of coughs and I’ve just r eached into my drawer to discover I’m nearly out of hand sanitiser . Oh yes, winter , you are finally officially here. When my phone pinged this morning with an alert for an almost-too-good-to-be-true flash sale on flights to escape winter , the next thing I knew I’d applied for leave, handed over my cr edit card details and locked in a trip. Now, while I count my pennies over the next few months to get there I’ll be blaming – and thanking! – our health editor…
