Margaret Urlich burst onto the music scene in 1985 in the Kiwi band Peking Man and became a defining voice of her generation. The beloved singer, who went on to join the all-girl group When the Cat’s Away in 1986, lost her two-and-a-half year battle with cancer on August 22, aged 57. Her cousin Peter Urlich paid tribute to Margaret last week, calling her “the most beautiful woman inside and out”. He recalled, “She sang so effortlessly and with such soul and sass. I was stunned when I first saw Peking Man because as a girl, she was very shy. Alec Baldwin says the incident last year, in which he shot two people on the set of the movie Rust in New Mexico, has had a major impact on his health. A new medical investigator’s report has deemed the incident on October 21, in which Alec was holding a prop gun that went off, killing camerawoman Halyna Hutchins, 42, and injuring director Joel Souza, 49, was an accident. Alec, 64, responded by saying the incident has “taken years off my life”. The star has instead placed the blame on the shoulders of the film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and assistant director Dave Halls, who handed him the weapon and told him it was a “cold gun”, which meant it was not loaded. The custody battle between Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde has turned sour. Ted Lasso star Jason, 46, and House actress Olivia, 38, split in 2020 and have since been co-parenting their son Otis, eight, and daughter Daisy, five, between Los Angeles and New York. The pair’s post-split harmony, however, took a dive earlier this year when LA-based Olivia, who is now in a relationship with British superstar Harry Styles, 28, told New York-based Jason she intended to set up home with the kids in London next year. A judge recently dismissed Jason’s petition to have the custody proceedings heard in New York, stating that California is the children’s home state and the petitions will have to be dealt with there.
