The Spanish royal family turned out in force recently to celebrate the Princess of Asturias Awards in the city of Oviedo. King Felipe, 54, Queen Letizia, 50, and their daughters Leonor, Princess of Asturias, 16, and Infanta Sofia of Spain, 15, were greeted by fans in the north western region of the country. They were also joined by King Felipe’s mother, Queen Sofia, 84. One of the most highly sought-after accolades at the event is for the title of “Exemplary Village”, given to a town in the area that has gone above and beyond to conserve its environmental, historical and cultural heritage.
