Rules for rules’ sake
As if we don’t have enough to concern ourselves with these days, something that greatly worries me is the proliferation of rules, regulations and, even worse “company policy”. If there is no actual legislation or by-law to cover a particular issue, then company policy will do it. Recently, while participating in the Orange Classic Rally in the NSW Central West, a group of us stopped to fill up at a Shell service station. Being a weekend, it was busy, and a queue formed at the cash register.
