Editor-in-chief The past year will certainly go down in history as ‘unprecedented’ – that word we’ve heard so often during 2020. We’ve all had our own personal struggles to deal with over the past 12 months, of course, but as motorcaravanners, one thing that we do have in common is that all our travels have been curtailed. Nothing is guaranteed to make one’s wanderlust more painfully felt than not being allowed to tour. Thankfully, a vaccine is already being rolled out, but there’s no denying that the effects of our restricted travels will be felt well into 2021. letter of the month Although this year won’t be one that any of us will ever forget, I do wonder whether the results of the various lockdown and Covid measures will remain with us in the longer term. The arrangements that some sites have made to allow you to check in without needing to go to reception are just one example – I found it less stressful to do this after a long drive to the site. The increased handwashing facilities (and sanitiser) can also only be a good thing, to help prevent even minor coughs and colds in future. I’m very much hoping for a return to ‘normality’ as soon as possible, but there are definitely some plus points that have been adopted during lockdown, which I hope will remain.
