go for it!

LET’S TALK ABOUT COMFORT ZONES. More specifically, wriggling out of them. At the risk of sounding like an Insta meme, I’m a big believer that the juiciest parts of life are waiting outside your own idea of “I’ve got this”. It’s the reason I keep going back to hip hop dance classes, and it’s absolutely what motivated me to sign up to my local AFL team last year. I’d never played footy before, and apart from the odd game of school netball, I didn’t really do team sports as a kid. So, diving head-first into a full-contact sport with a bunch of complete strangers was beyond intimidating for me. And – spoiler alert – this story doesn’t end like one of those Disney movies where the complete klutz morphs into a…

what moves renae

Hey Renae, what do you love about a good sweat sesh? Staying fit is so important to me. It helps me not only physically, but mentally, too. I love the endorphins I get after I’ve worked out, and it’s rewarding seeing results after all my effort. What does your workout routine look like? My go-to workout is metabolic conditioning – it incorporates compound movements with as little rest as possible! It’s time-efficient and maximises results. My weekly goal is to do three to four ‘MetCons’ a week and on the other three days I like to do an hour’s power walk. But I’ll always listen to my body and I’ve learnt that it’s okay to rest when needed. How do you stay motivated to train? My main motivation comes from knowing how…
