The worth of an old car is a “ballpark” estimate at best. Our prices come from compilations of national/regional data by the editors of our weekly publication, Old Cars Weekly News & Marketplace. These data include prices from collector-car auctions, verified reports of private sales and input from experts. We list values for vehicles in six different states of condition as explained on this page. Values are for complete vehicles, not parts cars, except as noted. Modified-vehicle values are not included, but can be estimated by figuring the cost of restoring to original and deducting from the figures shown within this publication. FEATURES THUNDERBIRD SERIES — (V-8) — While using the same body as the 1961–1962 T-birds, the 1963 model is the most easily recognizable of the entire series. The major difference in the 1963 model was a mid-body feature line that moves back, horizontally, from the front of the car and then dips down near the back of the front door. Three sets of five cast ‘hash marks’ are used on the side of the door, just ahead of the feature line dip. A single exhaust system was included as standard equipment for the first and only time and a 390 cid/340 hp V-8 was again an option. It featured three two-barrel carburetors.
