A Salute to HEROES
If there’s one thing the past year has brought into sharp relief, it’s how much first responders put on the line every day for our safety and security. They’re a comfort and quite literally a lifeline, especially in times like these. It’s no secret that fire-rescue professionals are mostly men, due largely to the grueling, physical nature of the work. But I’m a firm believer in women’s ability to do anything, so when I heard about Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue’s female firefighters/EMTs, I thought it was double cause for celebration: a thanks to the individuals who keep us all safe, and a tip of the hat to the ceiling breakers who smash traditional roles and set precedents for all women.
