As a mom of middle schoolers, in the last year I’ve developed a special appreciation for the lengths teachers go to for the benefit of children. From developing unique interactive tools for online learners to keeping their virtual doors open for questions well beyond school hours, teachers have given so much more than conventional duty requires. And with all the pandemic-related controversy, they don’t always get the recognition they deserve. Two years ago, we decided to change that, and the Palm Beach Illustrated Education Awards was born. We are now in our third year of recognizing educators, academic programs, and outstanding institutions in Palm Beach County, and I’m thrilled to share a glimpse into our special initiative in this issue.
