THIS MONTH’S WINNER Jodie Hoffmann, from Walla Walla, NSW, for her Make Your Own Baby Storybook project: “When I saw the instructions for the Bearhug and Honeybun book by Sedef Imer in the January 2017 issue (Vol 18 No 1), I knew I was making it. It was easy to put together, with the clear instructions. I made the window in the kitchen with a view outside, the fridge/freezer with contents and attached the towel in the bathroom. I’ve had fun rummaging through my stash to find the perfect pieces of fabric, and each book is different. In total, I’ve made six: for a niece, baby-shower gifts, a friend’s child and my grandchildren. I’m certain the recipients are going to love them. Thanks for an inspiring magazine.” Congratulations to Jodie for her great…

LITTLE TRIMMERS We’re showing you these WarmCrochet craft scissors simply because they are so sweet, with their grips surrounded by flowers. But they are also pretty practical … they come to a very sharp point, for example, so they get into tight corners and intricate stitching. Plus they are made from a quality stainless steel and alloy and come in four colours. But most of all they are just simply charming. To find out more and to purchase, visit or Instagram @warm_crochet. BEETLE MANIA Claire Turpin has done it again with a bright and fun cushion, called Bug It. Pattern or appliqué kit (with all pieces pre-cut with fusible-web backing) available – distributed through Creative Abundance. ‘CRAFT TART’ “I’m a proper craft tart. I’ve had a go at card-making, weaving, ceramics, silversmithing, beading, knitting, painting, printing, candle-making, baking, um … and probably a few others I’ve forgotten about along the way.” AN AFFAIR OF THE HEART “I fall in love with each of my projects. But like all great love affairs, there are highs and lows: we argue, shed tears and rekindle our fondness for each other along the way.” “I have an underlying creative current I can’t ignore, and it pulls me along.” MY STYLE IS: “Over-the-top, playful yet sophisticated. All my projects involve a lot of stitching. I enjoy covering entire surfaces in stitches and don’t like to leave much cloth showing. Stitch is a celebration of the process, and what better way to celebrate than by adding more stitches?” MY…
