‘get over yourself!’

Karren Brady is famed for her no-nonsense approach to contestants on The Apprentice. But she’s not afraid to tell it like it is when it comes to celebrities, either. And in a recent column, she had her aim firmly trained on Liverpool-born WAG Coleen Rooney – or ‘Wagatha Christie’ – as she’s been dubbed on social media. Singing sensation and former Loose Women panellist Jane McDonald, 56, spends six months of the year travelling via her favourite means of transport – cruise ships. When the bubbly brunette is on dry land, however, she still maintains there’s no place like home – her beloved Yorkshire, where she lives in Wakefield with her partner of 12 years, musician Ed Rothe. I thought I’d be back singing on the ships within the first 10 months after The Cruise [the reality TV show that first introduced us to Jane in the late 90s]. All those years ago, a person like me never would have made it: I was a cruise ship singer who worked the…

Our younger Royals have been proving that when it comes to mental health, their stance is very far removed from the ‘stiff upper lip’ approach of past generations. But now James Middleton, the younger brother of the Duchess of Cambridge, has made the most emotionally honest revelation yet – sharing the news that following a crippling depression which left him with suicidal thoughts, he underwent intensive therapy -and in some sessions was joined by big sister Kate. Speaking to a newspaper, he described how he underwent a year of cognitive therapy, and his whole family joined him – including his supportive older sister. When her brother James revealed he was battling depression, the Duchess (recently returned from a tour of Pakistan) lent her support, joining the family therapy sessions “All of them (joined…
