sema what we’re up to this year

The SEMA Show is the automotive aftermarket’s yearly trade show that takes place in Las Vegas every November/ late October. It’s the largest show the aftermarket has and straight-up dwarfs any car show you’ve ever been to. It’s the second largest convention Vegas hosts each year (based off of last year’s numbers it’s rivaled only by CES, the Consumer Electronics Show), drawing over 160K attendees and 2,400 exhibitors. Once a year the entire town is taken over by auto industry people of all kinds. Driving in the city during the event is tough because everywhere you look there’s some over-the-top custom vehicle. Parts-wise, if it exists in the aftermarket, it’s here. Most companies reveal their new products for the following year here as well. It’s important to note that…

weekend on the edge 2018

Of course, longtime Edge-sponsored driver Verlon Southwick was going to make an appearance at Weekend on the Edge. After a really rough 2018 season and some unforeseen troubles with its engine and new turbo setup, this truck hasn’t seen much action this year. But the brand-new combo under the hood was up and running just hours before the event started and made more than 1,000 hp on the dyno. Weekend on the Edge was hosted at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, allowing the quarter-mile drag races, sled pull, and dyno competitions to all be held in one location. The pull track was put together inside RMR’s circle track using dirt normally on site for monster truck shows. The crew members from United Pullers had their work cut…

ultimate callout challenge 2019 qualifier

Edge Products teamed up with the Ultimate Callout Challenge crew to host a 2019 UCC Qualifier to be run during the normal Weekend on the Edge scheduled events. The UCC Qualifier brought in a few heavy hitters trying their hand at competing in all three events—dyno, drag, pull—in hopes of being the one truck that would win an invitation to the UCC 2019 next May in Indianapolis. The Ultimate Callout Challenge has become the largest diesel competition of the year after just three years of existence, and getting a chance to compete with the biggest names in the business is one heck of an accomplishment. ■…
