jolly holidays

The countdown is on – less than 100 days to go. I love Christmas. There, I said it! Firstly: presents. Look, I know that it isn't all about pressies but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy unwrapping something special! This year I’ve laid down some serious hints as to what's on my wish list. Also… really good telly. Nothing beats curling up under an almost-finished quilt to stitch the binding on with a box set, or a spot of EPP to a nostalgic festive film. And then there's Boxing Day. HOW TO USE THE BINDING TOOL This clever tool will help you join the ends of your binding with a diagonal seam, and create expert mitred corners. The flattened point of the tool allows you to line up the two trimmed edges with no overhanging dog ears, and the corner notches mean there's no guesswork on where to stop and start your seams for perfect mitred corners. Just make sure to backstitch to secure the ends, and press your seam open for a flawless, flat finish. JOINING ENDS 1 Attach the binding to your quilt, leaving 8in tails at each end and a 12½in gap between the two ends. 2 Place the short flat edge under the binding on one side (edge A aligned with the quilt edge) and mark on the line. 3 Unfold…
