anna gare: why i turned down the queen

It was just like a scene from the Downton Abbey film. Celebrity chef Anna Gare was called and told the Queen would be coming to Perth and they would like Anna to cook for her. “At first I had to turn it down,” she laughs to New Idea. “I had a cupcake competition in Denmark, the country town where I come from. The gentleman on the other end of the phone could not believe it.” But with an elaborate plan that included limos and helicopters, Anna was able to make it to both events and had the opportunity to cook a barbecue for Her Majesty. While the Queen didn’t eat the sausages Anna had cooked, she did stop for a chat. “She was lovely,” says Anna. “We talked about kids and cooking and gardening…

Robert Irwin recently revealed he was drunk on stage after eating lots of alcohol-filled chocolates. Speaking to Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans, he said: “There was a time when I was given these chocolates and I was super hungry so I ate them all. Then I was like ‘these taste weird’. I’m thinking about khaki for colours. Maybe a khaki wedding dress!” she joked.…

nicole and keith: marriage counselling crisis

As has become their annual tradition, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have returned to Australia for a festive visit. But while Keith will combine the trip with work as he’s performing in Sydney for three nights, it’s thought the couple will spend most of their time with Nicole’s family. Now it’s being speculated that Nicole and Keith could use this time to focus on their marriage and even undergo couples therapy during their short break. It might also prompt them to consider a permanent relocation back to Australia in a bid to help strengthen their relationship. The couple have been very open about how rehab and therapy have been invaluable in the musician’s battle with addiction. In 2007, soon after Keith’s second rehab stay, Nicole explained to Vanity Fair: “I’ve learned an enormous…

our beach babymoon

Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic did little to shut down rumours of an impending pregnancy announcement when the couple headed off on a beach vacation in Byron Bay. In New Idea’s exclusive photos, the 45-year-old TV personality was seen enjoying the sun and surf, while his wife Jasmine, 35, flaunted a noticeably rounded belly beneath her one-piece swimsuit. Karl appeared smitten as he admiringly looked on at his glowing wife while the married couple of one year happily chatted with friends. The new holiday snaps all but confirmed recent swirling reports that the pair are expecting their first child together. These latest photos come shortly after Jasmine sent the pregnancy rumour mill into overdrive following a series of social media posts that suggested she was hosting a baby shower with friends in New York. palace celebrations explode!

After a year filled with scandalous revelations and reported feuding, the Queen must be hoping the festive celebrations taking place over the coming week will help unite the royal family. But now New Idea has learnt that any possibility of a calm Christmas and New Year may yet culminate in more drama and tears than festive cheer. “It will certainly be tense at Sandringham,” royal author Phil Dampier tells us. “SEVERAL MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY FEEL THE DUKE HAS SINGLE-HANDEDLY LET THE MONARCHY DOWN” “2019 has been a turkey for the Queen and although not as bad as the infamous ‘annus horribilis’ of 1992, it’s not been far behind. She will be hoping that over this period her family can get together and plan a way forward for the long-term good of the monarchy.” While Prince…
