CELEBRATING ARCHITECTURE Last February, I had the honor of attending the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art Florida Chapter’s Addison Mizner Awards in Palm Beach held at The Colony Hotel. What a spectacular event and venue. The Colony, a powder pink icon dating back to the 1940s, is old school luxury to the max. The event was sensational and a who’s who of the Florida design industry came out to celebrate the award winners. It was my first trip to this century-old vacation haven for the well-heeled. I loved touring Worth Avenue and seeing the historical architecture by Addison Mizner, the early-20th-century designer who left his artistic stamp on Palm Beach.
