travelling man

This month, Philippine Tatler takes you on a fantastic adventure courtesy of its cover star—Asia Tatler’s new Editor-at-Large for Travel; Beautiful Destinations founder and CEO, the dashing, charming, and down-to-earth Jeremy Jauncey. I first met Jeremy through our common friend Ben Chan when he came to Manila as a Bench endorser. We reconnected early this year when I asked him if he could be a contributor to this magazine. When I told my colleagues in the Asia Tatler head office about Jeremy, they thought it would be a great idea for him to be the travel editor for all the regional titles as well. So, Philippine Tatler introduces him (not that he needs any introduction) in a major way via this issue. For those unfamiliar with the digital world and social media…

a familial affair

The Tantoco family headed by Maritess Tantoco-Enriquez and husband Renato alongside Donnie and Crickette Tantoco welcomed Angelica Visconti Ruspoli to Manila, where she visited for the first time. She is the daughter of the late Fulvia Ferragamo and is one of the few Ferragamos who are working for the family company, the others being Ferrucio as chairman and James as vice chairman. Angelica is the luxury brand’s International Director and Director of Retail and Sales. Accompanying her was a frequent visitor to the country, Christian Foddis, Ferragamo’s CEO for Asia. Manila was one of their stops in Southeast Asia. Maritess brought Angelica and Christian to site visits, and then hosted the dinner at her father’s home. She reminisced about the time she worked as the Ferragamo buyer, where she would…

handcrafting filipino heritage

Having primed itself as a catalyst of socially conscious entrepreneurship, ArteFino is back with its third annual craft fair at the Fifth at Rockwell, Powerplant Mall from 29 August to 1 September. The fair showcases a roster of promising local brands, whose featured items reflect ArteFino’s working theme this year: pamana or heritage. The fair pays homage to Filipino artisans and the pursuit of reviving the art of embroidery, weaving, and carving, among other local traditions. ArteFino started as a passion project of five women—Marimel Francisco, Maritess Pineda, Susie Quiros, Cedie Vargas, and Armita B Rufino. They shared one vision: to create a platform for “conscious consumerism,” the team’s advocacy which promotes a creative community built on regard for environmental impact and mutual cultural awareness between artisan and buyer.…
