SHOTGUNS, revolvers, pistols and ammunition were among the array of weapons SAPS confiscated from suspects across the Western Cape at the weekend.
Detectives also arrested 623 wanted suspects related to murder, attempted murder, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, house robbery, burglary, sexual offences and possession of drugs.
SPAS Western Cape spokesperson FC van Wyk said an intelligence-driven operation in Durbanville landed a suspect behind bars for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on Friday.
Members attached to the Anti Gang Unit, Crime Intelligence and FLASH executed search warrants at the premises and found firearms such as shotguns, revolvers, pistols and ammunition.
