The basic Find & Replace tool in LibreOffice lets you quickly edit all instances of a particular word. Using its ‘Similarity search’ option, you can also find and correct misspellings of a word.
For example, some people inexplicably misspell the surname Stapley (as in Will Stapley, Deputy Editor) as ‘Stapely’, ‘Stapeley’ or, worse, ‘Staply’. Using the ‘Similarity search’ tool, we can quickly hunt down and correct all of these. We’re using LibreOffice Writer, but this tip also works in Calc.
With your document open, press Ctrl+H to open the Find & Replace window. Next, type the correct spelling of the word you’re searching for in both the Find and Replace boxes (‘Stapley’, in our example).
