Last time we chatted with Eric McCormack, he was crossing his fingers for his son who had just auditioned for his high-school musical. “He got the part!” Eric says, two years later. “And now he’s in college for music. I think he’s found his passion.” It makes the Toronto native, who shares son Finnigan, 19, with wife Janet, think of how he followed his own dreams two decades ago when he moved to Hollywood – and landed the role of a lifetime on Will & Grace. Just last month, Eric, 58, was celebrated for that groundbreaking portrayal, among other career feats, when he received a Trailblazer Award at the Whistler Film Festival (where his new movie, Drinkwater, also premièred).
