The shortlist for the Motor Sport Hall of Fame awards has been announced after a global poll attracted more than 40,000 votes.
This year’s biking contenders are Joey Dunlop, Kenny Roberts and Mike Hailwood. The trio were chosen by the public from a long list that also included Geoff Duke OBE, Soichiro Honda, Casey Stoner, Kevin Schwantz, Freddie Spencer, Eddie Lawson, Mick Doohan and Jim Redman MBE.
The winner will be announced at an award ceremony on Wednesday, June
4. Previous inductees have included John Surtees, Giacomo Agostini, John McGuinness, Valentino Rossi and last year’s winner Barry Sheene. As well as the award ceremony there is a classic parade that has previously featured Surtees’ MV Agusta 500 Quattro and Sheene’s Suzuki XR14.
