Controversy exploded soon after news broke on Nov. 22 that Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough—who both joined America’s Got Talent as judges last season—wouldn’t be returning to the hit NBC reality competition show. According to Variety, Union, 47, had expressed concerns over racially insensitive situations on-set, including a joke that guest judge Jay Leno allegedly made referring to Asians eating dog meat (which was edited out of the episode). ¾ cup canola oil1 oz. pecorino cheese, grated (about ½ cup)1 oz. Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated (about ½ cup) plus ½ oz. shaved (about ¼ cup), divided½ cup water2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)2 tsp. Dijon mustard1½ tsp. kosher salt4 heads Little Gem lettuce or baby romaine, halved1½ Tbsp. balsamic vinegar1 tsp. fresh cracked black pepper 1. Process oil, pecorino, grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, water, lemon juice, mustard and salt in a blender until emulsified, about 20 seconds. 2.
