In 1970, British Leyland found itself with an embarrassment of sporting riches. Six open-top offerings graced the showrooms: three from Triumph, one from Jaguar and two from MG. Today, Jaguar’s E-type has become an interstellar toy – not really for us mere mortals – but the MGB, Midget, Stag, Spitfire and TR6 are still within reach and are as desirable as ever.
We take a close look at the three larger stablemates and ask which makes the best choice today.
