The last time I edited an Italian issue we were quickly adapting to working from home, Salone del Mobile had been cancelled and Italy was in the midst of its first Covid wave. It was a sombre time. Two years later, Salone is back (for its celebratory 60th edition), the world is opening up and we find ourselves cautiously returning to some sense of normal after a chaotic and devastating time. Despite the confronting reality of the pandemic, there are always silver linings to be found.
