sexier together

When we began pulling together our list for WHO’s Sexiest People issue, we were looking for Australian and Hollywood stars who weren’t afraid to be unapologetically themselves. After all, sexiness ultimately has to come from a confidence within. As we went through our list of powerhouse athletes, actors, businesswomen and artists, a pattern quickly began to emerge. All the incredible talent on our list had someone – whether that be a friend, spouse, co-star or family member – right alongside them to encourage them to embrace their individuality. So this year we decided to double up on sexiness and feature duos who prove that being sexy isn’t just about looks – it’s an attitude. And our star-studded line-up this year has that in spades. Sophie Monk and her hilarious dad Mr Monk suited up on…

katy & orlando romantic birthday getaway

Katy Perry sure knows how to throw a party! Surrounded by the 64 friends she’d flown out to Egypt to celebrate her 35th birthday – including fiancé Orlando Bloom – the singer wasted no time in turning up the heat and having a ball in the desert. Sharing photos of the lavish 10-day getaway, Perry was all smiles as she cruised the Nile, explored the sand dunes on camels and took in the pyramids. On Instagram, Perry posted an image of herself staring off into the distant sunset beyond the imposing pyramids and sporting a loose-fitting mint-coloured gown paired with a striped headscarf. The series of images also showed her getting cosy with Bloom. The singer has reportedly been obsessed with Egypt since making her Egyptian-themed music video for ‘Dark Horse’ in 2014.…

speaks out

IN JULY LAST YEAR DEMI LOVATO suffered a near-fatal drug overdose, breaking a long stint of sobriety and forcing her into rehab for two months to try and overcome her long-running demons once and for all. Now the singer has broken her silence on her path to recovery, speaking at the Teen Vogue Summit about how she came out the other side from her latest relapse. “I think it’s been a very introspective year for me,” she admits. “I’ve been through a lot.” The 27-year-old has always been upfront about her battles, having first been treated back in 2010 for bipolar disorder, bulimia, self-harm and addiction. But despite her candour, Lovato admits she has struggled with what others have said about her. “What a lot of people don’t realise is that I’m actually an…

barty’s record win!

GOLDEN GIRL ASH BARTY THIS WEEK WON the biggest payday in tennis history. The 23-year-old took out the WTA finals in China, pocketing a historic $6.4 million cheque – an amount not even won by legends like Roger Federer and Serena Williams. But after defeating the defending champion Elina Svitolina to take out the enormous prize, Barty made a comical slip of the tongue during her acceptance speech. “First and foremost, thank you to the S...ty … ah, the city of Shenzhen,” the world No. 1 said. Barty insisted her achievement won’t change who she is. “I’ve got everything I need,” Barty said, adding that she will be only too happy to spoil her niece Lucy, 3, and nephew Oscar, who is almost 2, for Christmas. “They’re getting a new swing set,…

attacked by husband

JUST A MONTH AGO SHE revealed herself as‘the alien’ in hit series The Masked Singer, but Nikki Webster was hiding the heartbreak that she’d recently been a victim of domestic violence. The darling of the Sydney Olympics, 32, had been assaulted by her estranged husband, Matthew McMah, outside her dance studio in Leichhardt, NSW. Details emerged on November 1 after court documents were obtained by the press. They revealed that the couple, who have two children, became embroiled in a heated exchange on June 8 when McMah, 39, pulled up and Webster leaned into the car window. A police report states that he“began slowly rolling the car forward a short distance and stopped”. He then instructed her to close the door before getting out of the driver’s seat and forcibly removing her hands…
