The San Francisco International Airport has enlisted a new team member to help stressed travellers. A small, spotted, Juliana pig named LiLou is the first pig to be certified in the Animal Assisted Therapy Program of the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Joining the existing Wag Brigade, LiLou is the first non-canine of the group who roam the airport terminal wearing “Pet Me!” vests. Alongside LiLou, the Wag Brigade includes 22 trained therapy dogs who assist in treating travel stress. Currently, over 30 American airports have “therapy dog” programs with some even using miniature therapy horses. Experts have suggested it may only take 10 years until humans are able to live on the Moon following a video from the European Space Agency (ESA) showing what Moon life might look like. According to scientists, frozen water is trapped under craters of the natural satellite’s south pole meaning visitors could tap into a supply of water. With temperatures on the Moon’s surface likely to drop to minus 200 Degrees Celsius, experts claim it is still possible to create a lunar village using minerals and materials found on the surface. Moon settlement is anticipated to be a precursor to sending man to Mars with the Moon potentially acting as a stopover for space travellers.
