new street triple rs offers more

The big news for the 2020 Street Triple RS is its updated Moto2 derived engine. It’s been tweaked to meet Euro 5 emissions regulations, but Triumph has managed to eek even more power and torque from the 765cc unit with 79Nm of torque available at 9350rpm and 121bhp on tap at 11,750rpm. In addition to a more responsive throttle, the RS also gets a new exhaust cam for improved mid-range performance, and new higher precision machining on the crank shaft, clutch and balancer to help lower inertia and reduce engine mass. For suspension the RS gets fully adjustable 41mm Showa big piston front forks (with 115mm travel) and a fully adjustable Öhlins STX40 piggyback reservoir monoshock at the rear (with 131mm travel). yamaha’s funky e-scooters

Ahead of the big Tokyo Motor Show 2019 in Japan, Yamaha has revealed a range of new electric scooters that (for once) look pretty promising and the sort of scoot you could see yourself actually jumping on. Two of the three are concepts, whilst one is going into production. According to Yamaha, the E01 is an electric concept that is comparable to a petrol-powered 125cc scooter. Apparently it can be charged quickly, is comfortable and nippy around a city. Looks-wise, the big wheels and MT-range-esque colours and materials win us over. At the 50cc concept level is the Yamaha E02. It’s more compact and has a removable battery for charging away from the bike. It has big wheels and a bit more Tron-style look about it. four-wheeled kawasaki motorcycle is coming

We’re loving this story from our Italian friends over at Motociclismo. In saying that, during a pretty standard interview Sergio Vicarelli (Sales and Marketing Director) dropped the four-wheeled bombshell. The Motociclismo.it journalist Beppe Cucco asked about the future direction of Kawasaki motorcycles, and Vicarelli was extremely candid: “We have a four-wheeler project. It will arrive on the market in a relatively short future.” What do you reckon? Is it a Kawasaki quad bike? Hardly worth mentioning if it is, right? So if it’s not a quad bike (it isn’t) then what-oh-what could it be? How about the Concept J motorcycle? It’s the radical, weird, futuristic concept that Kawasaki showed a few years ago. new electric adventures

The big-name electric motorcycling company, Zero Motorcycles, is re-introducing the popular Zero DSR Black Forest Edition adventure bike as an all-new model for 2020. The Black Forest has a claimed range of 64-157 miles (depending on how you ride it), which you can extend to 80-196 miles with an accessory power pack. Torque and power figures are 116ft-lb and 70hp (52kW). Power pack capacity is 14.4kWh, and charge time to 95% will take 9.3 hours. With an accessory charge tank you can reduce the charge time to two hours. Expect to pay £17,490 after the Government’s Plug-in grant. In addition, the entire Zero line-up gets refreshed colours, graphics and the power and precision of the Cypher II and Cypher III operating systems.…
