We all love soaps. That’s why I’m sat here typing this and you’re sat reading it (well, I hope you’re sitting down – Inside Soap really is designed to be enjoyed while sitting, so do try to if you possibly can). But sometimes our soaps can make us a little mad. Maybe a storyline doesn’t go the way we want, or there’s one plot or character that we just can’t stand, and it ruins the whole episode for us. There can also be times where people question if soaps are sending out the correct message when they tackle certain plots, or if they portray scenes that shouldn’t be seen in the early evening. Emmerdale’s recent acid attack was one such plot, and after it received hundreds of complaints, we decided…

Bea finds herself in hot water with boss Ethan this week, when he accuses her of being behind the Rage In Resus blog! It’s been nearly five years since fresh-faced F1 doctors Arthur, Dom and Zosia descended on the wards of Holby, with their friendship proving a huge hit with viewers. Recent Strictly Come Dancing contestant and former Dales actress Gemma Atkinson (Carly Hope) was staying tight-lipped on rumours about her relationship with Strictly professional Gorka Márquez – but it looks as if all has now been revealed! Our mates recently got us Big Little Lies on DVD – I don’t think we’ve used the DVD player for about three years! But we got that out and watched it, and it’s just brilliant – you make snap decisions during the first episode, but then it surprises you. My missus [actress Lisa McGrillis] is in Mum on BBC2 – she plays Kelly, and we’ve just watched series two of that. It’s brilliantly done, and I’m not just saying that because she’s in it! Just to put it into context: while the challenging nature of soaps can raise some concerns, they seem to take their responsibilities very seriously, and are rarely – if at all – rapped on the knuckles. IF YOU’VE FOUND YOURSELF watching Ninja Warrior UK thinking, ‘Nahh, too easy’, then do we have the show for you. In this competition, athletes from six different countries tackle a fiendishly challenging endurance course known as The Beast. The contestants defy fear, injury and often gravity itself in order to prove their worth, and the show sets itself apart by giving each competing nation its own commentary team.
