“MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY IN THESE EVIL DAYS.” - EPHESIANS 5:16 January is over, yet I still marvel at what an exciting year lies before us. As Christians, we need to rejoice that the spirit of the anti-Christ has taken a huge blow worldwide, particularly with the defeat of the ultra-left wing Democratic Party in the USA. Liberals are screaming, “what happened” and “what is happening” as their lofty plans crumble and their wicked ways are being exposed and challenged at every turn. We need to pray more than ever before that the scales will continue falling off the eyes of the elect, so that we will all arise and boldly proclaim the Gospel, salvation, and the Lord’s Will for governments and societies. Christianity has been under severe…
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” – Proverbs 4:7 In the previous publication, I spoke about how gaining the wisdom and perspective of God concerning our situation will enable us to accurately gauge our measure of faith and spiritual fortitude. In his letter to the believers in Rome, Paul touched on this important principal saying, “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” – Romans 12:3. Avoiding the pain of failure Having an accurate understanding of our faith and ability could save us not only time, but…
Many believers have anticipation and hope that the new year will hold blessing and success. This however, can only be achieved through faith-based prayers and right living as we seek first and above all else the Kingdom of God. (Matt. 6:33) The most powerful move our church ever made was establishing a powerful prayer base. This in turn impacted churches across the nation and beyond on the 14-16 October last year through live-streaming. I believe with all my heart that prayer action continued on a permanent basis will enhance the Kingdom in this nation and the gates of hell will not prevail. It is believed by the orthodox Jewish community that this year in their calendar 5777 is the year of the Kingdom. This being so, let us take hands,…

It was with interest that I read your position on the ‘World’s first baby born with controversial new three-parent technique’ in the December issue of JOY! Magazine. I am writing from the Infertility Awareness Association of South Africa and I would like to take this opportunity to create awareness and understanding around the ‘disease’ infertility and the medical developments associated with assisted reproduction. Infertility comes in many different shapes and not being able to carry a baby to term and give birth to a live baby is one part of infertility. If we see infertility as a disease and not a choice, we as a society will learn to celebrate the medical advances that allow patients diagnosed with it to conceive and have families. Would we as easily judge a…
Just thought I would send some words of encouragement to all you wonderful people at JOY! I love your publication and the new inclusion of “wise men” and their words of wisdom. What an innovative way to bring fresh new voices to the readers. Seeing and reading what they have to say is very interesting and informative. It helps me as a young man in ministry to see how diverse yet how similar we are in our interpretation of God’s Word. Thank you for this brilliant publication – may you go from strength to strength.…
