“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”– Psalm 119:105 I encourage you to pray about everything and make it normal to talk to God and ask His advice on all issues in your day-to-day activities. I meet many people who complain that life is so busy, and that they are not getting the quality time with the Lord as much as they would like to. The key is not to feel condemned or disappointed because this is happening, but rather talk to Him all day, constantly sending out ‘arrow prayers’. This way you are involving the Lord in all of your ways. Also download a Bible app on your smartphone or the Got Questions app, then you will always have the answers to…
BASED ON PSALM 11 The author of Psalm 11 is recognised to be David as he fled for his life, either from Saul or his rebellious son Absalom. The psalm expresses the confidence that the faithful can have, in times of severe crisis, even when the very foundations of justice are threatened. In this prayer as in Psalm 11, assurance is given that those who stand for truth and justice will be rewarded for every act of obedience to bring about a just society. I have put my trust in Jesus and submit to His Will and purpose! In this crisis who else can protect my soul. So why do you say to me; “Flee to a safe sanctuary, the wicked are preparing their false accusations, spreading lies and threatening…
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.”– John 3:16. Jesus is the Gift that keeps on giving. Have you ever stopped to consider the power and dynamics involved in Christ’s giving of Himself? His selfless action eternally loosed tremendous power in the spiritual dimension. Lives are being changed forever, and doors of unprecedented opportunities are being opened. From His birth to His death and resurrection, He laid a path of restoration and reconciliation with the Heavenly Father. • He has paved the way for eternal life with Him. • He gave us power and authority to withstand all the attacks of the enemy. • He gave us peace in a world of chaos and disasters so we can be overcomers. • He gave us hope so that we…
Dreams that are inspired by the Holy Spirit are unbreakable. We know the world is not enough, we need the Holy Spirit and Jesus in our lives. At this time of year, it can be easy to rush into all the festivities and busyness without giving ourselves time to pause and reflect what the season of Christmas is all about. As we get ready for the Christmas season, let’s build in time to reflect, to be thankful, and to dream. Take time to count your blessings Why not put some time in your diary to remind yourself of the blessings of this year? Whatever the year has been like for you, be thankful for the blessings of the workplace, of family and friends, for your homes, and every other blessing…
Jacob Zuma Father in the Name of Jesus Christ we pray for President Jacob Zuma. We ask Lord that You convict and bless Jacob Zuma with the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. May His heart be for righteousness and justice and his delight in the fear of the Lord. We pray for Jacob Zuma to realise that he is loved by You. Amen. Isaiah 11:2-5. Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa We thank you Lord for the leadership skills in Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa and pray that he will aspire to be blameless before God. We ask that he will be a leader who is temperate, sober-minded, of good behaviour, hospitable, able to teach and lead by example, not greedy for money but gentle; not…
At our church, which happens to be home to a large proportion of students, one of the things we do quite a lot of is to teach about a Biblical worldview. We contrast it to opposing philosophies with which we are all bombarded in schools, universities, and life in general, and we emphasise that the message of Christ must impact and shape every area of life. On occasion I have been encouraged by Christian leaders whom I respect to put this kind of teaching aside and focus on what I would call ‘the John 3:16 message’. This prompted much soul-searching and a re-evaluation of what I and our staff do. I went to the Scriptures, beginning with the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. In the Great Commission I found…
