“I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever, with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.” –Psalm 89:1 As a Christian with a heart for evangelism, I love Christmas time. It provides countless opportunities to speak about Jesus. It’s a time to remind folks why we are celebrating, buying gifts, and blessing others. It’s a time to freely share the goodness of God and freely use the Name of Jesus. I get upset when I hear people complaining about all the rushing around and stress that the season brings – and I can understand it – but we must, as children of God, use this time to rather focus on the reason for the season. It’s difficult for people to criticise…
Heavenly Father, I come to you in the Name of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself; I need your forgiveness and salvation. I believe that Jesus died on the Cross, and on the third day He rose to be with You. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I invite Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Saviour and I surrender my life to Him. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace that has saved me from my sins. Please, Lord Jesus, transform my life so that I may bring glory and honour to You alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for the gift of eternal life. …
Earlier this year, the Lord showed me that South Africa would go through a “bottleneck” of pressure and this has clearly manifested itself in many ways. Because of financial and social difficulties, many Christians intensified their prayer lives and experienced wonderful breakthroughs. Prayer meetings were established and existing ones were strongly attended. I knew from past historical world scenarios that this would usher in the spiritual revival that is so desperately needed in the Church of Jesus Christ. Faith and Word-based prayer not only ushers in revival, but also brings forth many victories and breakthroughs in the midst of trials. PROPHETIC PRAYER POINTERS: • Xe a have to ask the Lord to help us with the economic restoration of South Africa. • Pray with us continuously for our State Presient and key…
God’s timing is often extremely inconvenient to our safety. Joshua chapter three records that God commanded the Israelites to cross the boundary-defining Jordan river in flood season, when its waters were at their highest. At the most inconvenient and difficult time, God commanded Joshua to advance. To a much lesser degree, I can identify somewhat. Last year, after looking and trusting for a church building for the better part of our 25 + year existence, we stumbled upon a building that was once a church, in the centre of our town. Within walking distance to the university and in a street of good visibility for our local community, we had a sense that this could be the ideal opportunity. Armed with a wonderful prayer team and very little money, as…
The only way for the Church to be restored to her glory is to learn how to walk by faith. Living by faith is not staying awake all night worrying about your life, your children, your business or your career. Living by faith does not mean that you work yourself to an early grave trying to get somewhere or achieve something. To live by faith means that you enter into the rest of God. It means that you cease from your own labours and allow God to work in you and through you by His Spirit, that which is pleasing in His sight (Philippians 2:13). Don’t just sit back The Bible says that he who believes has entered into God’s rest. That does not mean you sit back and do…
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26 In 1993, when the country was moving towards its first democratic election, I was seriously excited about the changes happening in South Africa and had a strong desire to be part of that change. I had been ‘born again’ almost 20 years before – although I do remember dedicating my life to Jesus at a much younger age. I believed God had a plan for South Africa – a plan for good and not for evil. Called to politics Having spent years working to become a SA citizen, I felt privileged to be able to vote in the 1994 elections. I believed – and still do – that every vote counts, and I…
