editor’s letter

Every issue, I feel privileged to have so many beautiful love stories cross my desk. Sharing in unbelievably joyous moments and seeing the latest wedding trends that are capturing the minds and hearts of modern lovers is a genuinely rewarding part of my job. Case in point: after enjoying a flush of fun, boho-inspired weddings in recent years, I’m beginning to see a swing towards celebrations embracing a classically elegant style with a twist of modern minimalism. And I am smitten! Spanning locations from the shores of our glittering coastline to the chic urban setting of Brisbane and the charming countryside beyond, this issue’s real-wedding collection (starting on page 41) is a romantic showcase of this fresh, contemporary style. The best bit? It’s endlessly adaptable – just add your own personal touches…

weddings at tiffany's

This couple's special day came about in a slightly unconventional way… and we love it! With Claire's beloved granny visiting from Scotland, she and Dave decided to take the leap and plan a spectacular wedding with a very short time-frame. Before they were even officially engaged, the two decided to set the date for just eleven weeks away and start researching venues. “Weddings at Tiffany's in Maleny was always high on my list of dream venues but we thought that it wasn't likely there would be an available date with such short notice,” explains Claire. “The stars aligned with one long-weekend Sunday date available! When we visited the venue, tried their sample menu and met their wedding coordinator, Juliana, we knew we had to seal the deal.” Who else is…

preston peak winery

Proving that love can happen in the most unexpected moments, Greg and Maddie’s romance started with a mistake. “I had ordered a new roof sign to be painted for the company I worked for at the time,” says Maddie of the moment she met her future husband. “It had been done incorrectly, so I had to complain to the cute sign writer on the job, which just happened to be Greg. We’ve been together ever since!” When it came to their wedding, the couple were determined there would be no such mistakes – and found perfection at Preston Peak Winery. The 330 acres of Preston Peak take in sweeping views of the Lockyer Valley, just south of Toowoomba. With its grape vines, olive grove and rolling hills, the property provides a stunning…
