guelder rose

“THIS JUMPER is knitted in a soft worsted-weight yarn for autumnal warmth,” says Amanda Jones. “The front panel combines lace stitches with cables to keep your interest. The sweater is knitted in the round from the bottom up; when you divide for the armholes, the pattern continues to be worked flat. The cables are worked on the WS rows as it is easier to work the cables on this row and work the K2togs on the right side.” SIZE Note: Garment is designed to be worn with 10-15cm (4-5½in) of positive ease. shetland country

West Yorkshire Spinners has enhanced its The Croft yarn ranges with extra colours and a new pattern book. Four new tweedy shades evoking the Shetland countryside have been added to the Croft Shetland Tweed line-up, including the grey-toned Lunna and the red-hued Coppisters. Complementing these are two new solids in the Croft Shetland Colours range - a sky blue and a deep purple. Showcasing the whole range of shades is a handsome collection of patterns designed by Mary Henderson and Rosee Woodland. The book, Shetland Country, offers six designs for men and women, including ‘Alistair’ and ‘Allie’, two round-necked sweaters with panels of modern stranded colourwork. The ‘Ailsa’ cardigan and ‘Flora’ sweater are yoked garments using classic Fair Isle; there is also a Fair Isle cardigan with lacy sleeves, a hat and…
