It is scheduled to receive vessels from Walvis Bay and Luderitz along the Namibian coast, Gough Island, and Tristan Da Cunha in the South Atlantic, all booked to arrive at the Cape Town terminal from now until May next year.
Acting Port Manager of Cape Town, Tshepo Ramonyaluoe, said: “Cruise tourism has a significant economic impact, contributing substantially to local, regional and national economies. Therefore, the resuming of cruise tourism is a much-needed economic boost.”
The local economy’s main revenues from the cruise industry include and are not limited to crew and passenger spending, shore excursions and tours, as well as vessel supplies and services, added Ramonyaluoe.
