WITH “Bazball” all the rage now in England, the Proteas risk being seen as little more than fodder for Ben Stokes’ England team next month.
However, South Africa’s players see no need to cower. While not exactly a call to “bring it on”, Rassie van der Dussen claimed that the Proteas are keen to examine themselves against this new, supposedly era-defining, English team. “Let's see them do that against our bowlers,” Van der Dussen chirped, in reference to the new-found freedom with which England have approached the Test format under new head coach Brendon “Baz” McCullum.
