At the first chicane I realise that I know exactly where I am: this is where Verstappen parked his car on top of Hamilton’s in 2021. I also know the splendidly named Curva Grande and the second chicane (‘variante’) it leads to. And how could I forget the Lesmos, the Variante Ascari and, of course, the Parabolica?
