BEEF PRICES MIXED
International: New Zealand steers traded 1,39% lower at NZ497c/kg and cows traded 3,89% lower at NZ346c/kg. US beef prices were mostly lower: topside was 9,65% lower at US$191,50/cwt, rump was 6,93% lower at US$284,43/cwt, strip loin was 3,37% lower at US$452,22/cwt, chuck was 0,53% higher at US$211,12/cwt, and brisket was 0,73% higher at US$196,64/cwt. The carcass price was 1,93% lower at US$254,37/cwt. The latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Report estimated that beef production might decline due to lower third-quarter slaughterings.
Domestic: The Class A price was 0,55% higher at R38,66/kg and the Class C price was 0,38% higher at R31,61/kg. The weaner price was 1,53% lower at R20,54/kg. The price of hides increased 0,11% to R15,33/kg. Abundant poultry and pork supplies could weigh down the…
