BEEF PRICES FLAT
International: New Zealand steers and cows traded flat at NZ$5,50/kg and NZ$4,07/kg respectively. US prices were mostly lower: topside was 3,57% lower at US$185,99cwt, rump was 5,30% lower at US$269,67/cwt, strip loin was 0,84% lower at US$447,18/cwt, chuck traded 0,20% lower at US$202,84/cwt, and brisket traded 0,80% lower at US$201,46/cwt. The carcass price was 1,12% lower at US$250,68/cwt. New Zealand prices are expected to increase due to a shortage of supplies from Australia.
Domestic: Local prices remain steady, but may gain support from improved demand as weather conditions warm up. Class A was 0,18% higher at R38,01/kg and Class C was 0,28% higher at R32,31/kg. The weaner price was 0,10% lower at R20,65/kg. The hide price was 0,39% lower at R15,16/kg.
