BEEF PRICES FLAT
International: New Zealand steers and cows traded flat at NZ$5,38/kg and NZ$3,95/kg respectively. US prices were lower: topside was 1,04% lower at US$184,05/cwt, rump was 16,11% lower at US$226,23/cwt, strip loin was 15,65% lower at US$377.21/cwt, chuck traded 3,32% lower at US$196,11/cwt, and brisket traded 3,83% lower at US$193,74/cwt. The carcass price was 8,63% lower at US$229,06/cwt. Australian beef production is expected to decline, as producers are retaining female animals for herd expansion, following recent rainfall, thus supporting prices.
Domestic: Local prices remained steady. Class A was 1,12% higher at R38,07/kg and Class C was 0,31% higher at R32,45/kg. The weaner price was 0,76% lower at R20,49/kg. The hide price was 0,10% higher at R15,17/kg.
