BEEF PRICES DOWN
International: New Zealand steers traded 1,12% lower at NZ$5,29/kg and cows traded 1,55% lower at NZ$3,82/kg. US prices were mostly lower: topside was 3,47% lower at US$182,59/cwt, rump was 0,11% lower at US$220,98/cwt, strip loin was 5,29% lower at US$375,33/cwt, chuck traded 2,45% higher at US$198,57/cwt, and brisket traded 0,71% higher at US$195,61/cwt. The carcass price was 1,09% lower at US$229,67/cwt.US GDP grew at an annualised rate of 2,9% in the third quarter, and the October unemployment rate declined to 4,9%, which led to increased demand for beef.
Domestic: Local prices lost some ground due to increased slaughterings. Class A was 0,14% lower at R36,85/kg and Class C was 0,40% lower at R32,20/kg. The weaner price was 0,84% higher at R20,83/kg. The hide price was 0,23%…
