MEAT PRICES MIXED
International: New Zealand steers and cows traded flat to slightly lower at NZ$583/head and NZ$383/head respectively. US beef traded as follows: topside traded lower at US$277,09/cwt, rump higher at US$461,16/cwt, strip loin lower at US$651,16/cwt, chuck slightly lower at US$292,21/cwt, brisket slightly lower at US$259,98/cwt, and the carcass price was US$358,56/cwt.
Domestic: The various meat classes traded as follows: Class A prices decreased 5,99% to R32,63/kg, Class B increased 0,69% to R31,27/kg, and Class C increased 1,39% to R29/kg. Weaner prices were slightly lower at R20,13/kg. Hide prices were flat at R12,25/kg as global supply continues to outstrip demand.
