MEAT PRICES MIXED
International: New Zealand steers traded flat at NZ$583/head and cows traded higher at NZ$388/head. US beef traded as follows: topside traded lower at US$220,23/cwt, rump traded lower at U$390,21/cwt, strip loin traded lower at US$530,94/cwt, chuck traded slightly lower at US$260,98/cwt, brisket traded slightly lower at US$232,39/cwt, and the carcass price was US$307,10/cwt. A large backlog of cattle from feedlots flooded the US market resulting in a decrease in domestic prices.
Domestic: Local prices were mixed. The various meat classes traded as follows: Class A prices decreased 0,26% to 34,68/kg, Class B traded slightly higher at R31,83/kg and Class C increased 2,42% to R29,65/kg.
