Mohair prices experienced downward pressure at the final summer sale, according to Deon Saayman, general manager at Mohair South Africa. Of the 144 585kg on offer, 93% had been sold.
“The stronger rand made trading difficult, while the quality of the hair was not as good as at the previous sale. The better quality individual clips did, however, attract better competition,” he said.
