Approximately 155 000 visitors from across the world, including South Africa, attended the recent biennial EuroTier dairy, pork and poultry trade fair held in Hanover, Germany. The theme of this year’s event was ‘Digital Animal Farming’, with many of the almost 2 600 exhibitors showcasing products in this field.
Commenting on the four-day expo, Dr Reinhard Grandke, CEO of the German Agricultural Society (DLG), which hosted EuroTier 2018, said: “Digital solutions based on electronics, control system technology, data management, and innovations in the areas of livestock housing, feeding, husbandry, genetics and breeding set new trends for efficient production and animal welfare.”
