This issue we bring you an exclusive chat with Jack P Shepherd, as he looks back on 25 years of playing David Platt in Corrie. Can you believe he’s been on the cobbles for a quarter of a century? He barely seems old enough! But I guess when you start out as a child actor, it’s easy to notch up a decade here and there without even realising. “Would David cope in the Big Brother house?” Jack’s long been an Inside Soap favourite, so we were thrilled that he managed to squeeze in our chat before he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house. Despite the hard-hitting nature of the dementia storyline, Nigel’s comeback after more than 25 years has inspired a wave of nostalgia for the fans, and Paul himself. “People have been very nice,” grins the star. “Even today, I’ve been stopped about four times! Nigel being back reminds them of a time when they were younger. It’s nice to be told they’re happy to see me. “Doing scenes with Steve [McFadden, who plays Phil] and Ross [Kemp, aka Grant] during the 40th anniversary week was amazing,” he adds. “It felt like time didn’t exist, and we picked up where we left off like it was yesterday.”…
