A nother year has passed, and we are heading full force into 2017. Sometimes it feels like we need time to stop, if just for a moment, so we can catch our breath, look around us, and try to make sense of it all. We need just a moment to figure out how to productively move forward. Unfortunately, we don’t have that option (not yet, anyway). Fortunately, I think I have an idea of what we can do. When people ask me what I do for a living, I really don’t know what to tell them. I guess you could say I’m a professional knitter, but even I know how silly that sounds. I’m a teacher and a designer, but the bulk of my income comes from cranking out knitted pieces for Hollywood. Hollywood is a fast-paced place where everything needs to be done yesterday. When I am hired for a job, I don’t have very much time to shop for yarn, design the piece, and knit every single stitch by hand.
