Often it seems easier to give in to the prevailing winds and deny my convictions.
I don’t like myself when I allow this to happen to me. I feel inauthentic, fraudulent.
There is an art to saying what you mean, expressing what you think, and, when necessary, expressing what you really feel. This art, of course, includes the joyful acceptance that others have the same privilege. Like any art form, it can be learned and practised.
We can get better at it. We can apologise when we fail and try again.
