I WAS recently admitted to hospital for the first time. I’ve been relatively healthy so when my body broke, I was understandably nervous. But from the time I walked into the (private) hospital, everything was about me. And while I appreciated how seamless the experience was made, I thought of the man who bled out because the clinic he was rushed to in Limpopo allegedly didn’t have a first-aid kit.
