How is a city boy, born and raised in Washington, D.C., the right person to host this show? Even though I was born and raised in the city, I had a lot of outdoor access in the 1980s in D.C. My mother was the key to all that outdoor stuff. As classic parents do, she’d say, “Go outside and play.” I had a bicycle at an early age, and I would go terrorize the neighborhood with my friends. THE MARTIN & LEWIS YEARS Before the Beatles, before Elvis, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis created a sensation. In a time when America needed to let loose (1946-1956), the handsome crooner from Steubenville, Ohio, and the skinny funnyman from New Jersey made Americans laugh themselves silly.
