LETHOCERUS
Marketed as the giant underwater bugs, Lethocerus are found across most continents aside Antartica, although there’s only one European species. With a little searching about, you should be able to find Lethocerus africanus available either online or in specialist pet shops—L. africanus is something of an enigma, as it appears to be a trade name with no water bug of that description in existence. It’s most likely L. cordofanus.
Care is straightforward and feeding easy enough, but bites should be avoided at all costs, with the pain reported to last for a good five hours before finally lifting.
