a letter from home

Apart from a brief spell during primary school when I yearned to be a prima ballerina – a dream quickly squashed by rapid growth and resultant inability to keep my gangly limbs in check – there were only ever two possible career paths that captivated me. The first was that of interior decorator with skills in architecture, too; the second, the role of magazine editor. Floral motifs are perennially popular in fabrics and wallpaper collections, and whether your taste is for pretty chintz-inspired prints, soft meadow flowers, playful Bloomsbury-inspired splashes of colour or gently bohemian details, there is something to suit almost every design palette. plumed paradise

With their enormous variations in colourful plumage and envy-inducing ability to wheel and loop in the air far above the earth, birds have fascinated man and been captured in art and ornothological illustration since time immemorial. Avian forms and colourful feathers widely inspire interior details from fabrics to sculptural accessories to suit almost any scheme.…
